A synced calendar
iCal with Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo, so one night is not sold twice.
Three ways to have your own site: build it, hire someone, or use a tool made for one holiday let. What each costs, and what the page actually needs before a guest can book.

Platforms are hard to beat for a guest who has never heard of you. Your own site is for everyone else: people who stayed last year, a friend they tell, someone who finds you on Instagram or Google Maps, and families who want to ask a question before they book.
On your link you do not pay a platform commission for those stays, and the guest relationship sits with you.
It does not replace Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo. You also do not need a discount to make the direct booking worth it. Guests often book you because they already trust the place.
This is the flexible route, and the work is yours: calendar, enquiry form, payments, more than one language, a phone layout, and upkeep.
If you are happy to spend evenings on it, it can be a good fit. The usual snag is keeping the calendar honest with the platforms.
A rough cost is the builder plan and the domain, plus any booking or calendar plugins, plus your time.
The result can look excellent. Every price change, photo and season then waits on someone else.
Ask three things before you sign: who maintains the site, how the calendar stays in sync, and who owns the domain.
It is meant for one person with one place, live in minutes rather than a web project.
With MyStay you paste an Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo link, or you describe the place. The preview uses your photos, words and reviews. You pick one of three layouts (Editorial, Modern or Boutique) and one of eight colour palettes.
It costs ÂŁ14.99 a month for one property, with no commission on the stay. The preview is free. The 14-day trial starts when Paddle collects a card so you can publish.
Large photos, and copy that answers what guests actually ask: beds, parking, how far the beach is, pets.
An iCal calendar synced with the platforms you already use, so the same night is much less likely to sell twice. A simple way to get in touch, such as WhatsApp with the dates already filled in, or an enquiry.
Guests pay you directly by card, cash or bank transfer. Card checkout uses your own Stripe account.
Your licence or registration number, when you are supposed to show it. What belongs on the page, and what MyStay does not file, is at mystay.direct/tourist-registration-on-your-booking-site. You can start on a free address such as yourplace.mystay.direct and connect your own domain later.
Looking at the draft does not ask for a card.
What any holiday-rental website needs, however you build it.
